Getting started
What is Kind Care?
Kind Care is a care coordination app for families managing private home care. It helps you share care plans, medications, and visit notes with carers — all from your phone.
Does my carer need to create an account?
No. Carers open a share link on their phone — no download, no account, nothing to install. If a carer juggles multiple patients, they can optionally create a free carer account to see them all in one place.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Kind Care works offline from day one — every patient's data is stored on the device. The moment there's signal again, changes sync in the background.
What languages are supported?
English, Portuguese and Spanish. More languages are coming.
How do I open a family's share link?
Tap the link the family sends you on your phone. The patient's care plan opens in your browser — no install, no signup. Add the page to your home screen for one-tap access on your next visit.
Do I need a carer account?
No, not for invited families. You only need an account if you want all your families on a single dashboard or if you start managing your own clients (Carer Plus).
Privacy and data
Is my data safe?
Yes. Your data is stored on your device first and encrypted in transit when syncing. We never sell your data and show no ads. We're GDPR compliant by design and our servers are hosted in the EU.
Is Kind Care a medical device?
No. Kind Care is a care coordination tool, not a medical device. It helps organise information but does not provide medical advice. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings in the app and choose 'Delete account'. All your data is permanently removed within 30 days. You can also export everything first if you'd like a copy.
Billing and legal
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel any time from Account › Billing in the app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your billing period — no partial charges, no exit interview.
Do you offer refunds?
If you believe you've been charged in error, email hello@akind.care within 30 days and we'll investigate. Outside that, refunds are discretionary because cancellation already lets you finish out the period you've paid for.
Where can I read your privacy policy and terms?
They're linked from the footer of every page. Both are written in plain English first and legal accuracy second.
How do I get paid?
Payment is between you and the family — Kind Care isn't a payment processor. The visit history export (Plus) gives you a tidy log to attach to invoices.
